Auburn and head coach Gus Malzahn continue picking up speed, this time on the recruiting trail, as 2018 four-star running back Shaun Shivers committed to the Tigers on Wednesday evening.
“I love the atmosphere and the program,” Shivers told Ryan Bartow of 247sports. “I love the campus. Me and coach (Gus Mahlzan) have a connection. He told me how I would fit into their offense and how I would fit into their program. I’ve met the whole staff and felt the love from them.”
ESPN ranks Shivers as the 18th-best running back in the 2018 class, and 234th in their overall rankings. Shivers held offers from Georgia, LSU, TCU, and Utah, among others.
As a sophomore in 2015, the Hollywood, FL. native rushed for 1,219 yards and 19 touchdowns.
