Oklahoma's Rodney Anderson: Out for season with neck injury
Anderson will miss the 2016 season due to a neck injury, Chuck Carlton of the Dallas Morning News reports.
Analysis:
According to Carlton, Anderson suffered the neck injury during Oklahoma's scrimmage Thursday. Fortunately, there was no mention of Anderson's injury being career threatening. That said, this is another difficult injury for Anderson after he redshirted last season as a freshman due to a leg injury that required surgery. Oklahoma will lean on Samaje Perine and Joe Mixon in the run game yet again, but Anderson's injury will allow Daniel Brooks to function as the Sooners' third back.
