Rutgers' Darius Hamilton distressed over One Direction breakup
Rutgers defensive end Darius Hamilton is primarily focused on returning to the field, when a knee injury sidelined him for all but one game last year.
However, Hamilton also has the pop group One Direction on his mind, after the band decided on a hiatus that is expected to be a permanent one.
“Man, it’s a struggle to watch them go like this,” Hamilton told ESPN. “It was just the six-year anniversary the other day, and I had some down days. You have to miss what they gave us in the prime."
Thankfully for the West Paterson, N.J. native, he's found a replacement to ease the pain, turning to Jon Bellion in One Direction's absence.
“I still love One Direction, but I’m a big Jon Bellion fan now. Not too many people know him right now, but I’m going to his concert this month."
New Scarlet Knights head coach Chris Ash is hoping he gets the same production from Hamilton as One Direction at the group's pinnacle. In 2014, the 6-foot-3 defensive end recorded 45 tackles, six sacks, and one forced fumble in 13 games.
We feel your pain, Darius.
