There are certain rules Ohio State adheres to when it comes to its rivalry with Michigan, and one is a ban of the color blue around the football facility.

Head coach Urban Meyer, however, is making a temporary exception for a Memorial Day workout in which the players will wear red, white, and blue.

The move is part of "Patriot Week" for the program, where players will attend seminars on the importance of voting, and learn more about the democratic system.

"The players are going to be wearing red, white, and blue, and we'll have some fun with it," Meyer told The Columbus Dispatch. "They'll also take a test on what they've learned the previous four days, and before they leave Friday for the holiday weekend, they've got to pass that test."

When grilled about the players wearing blue despite the ban, Meyer responded: "We'll make an exception that day."

The ban on the color blue isn't one the Buckeyes take lightly. During a campus visit earlier this year, Meyer went as far as making Lou Holtz change his clothes.
