Memphis removes all conditions for Austin Nichols' transfer
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) Memphis has withdrawn all conditions on the release of forward Austin Nichols after reviewing his appeal to transfer.
The university issued a statement Tuesday saying only that Nichols' appeal had been reviewed and all conditions on his release removed.
The 6-foot-9 forward was granted a conditional release last week by athletic director Tom Bowen, allowing the Tigers' leading scorer last season to transfer. Bowen's statement didn't indicate the conditions of Nichols' release and the schools he was prohibited from considering.
Nichols averaged 13.3 points and 6.1 rebounds in 2014-15. He becomes the third Memphis player to transfer since the end of the season.
