Ex-Nebraska guard Tarin Smith lands at Duquesne
Tarin Smith has found a new home.
After announcing his departure from Nebraska early in April, the former Huskers guard has committed to Duquesne.
"I just felt that it was a really good fit as far as the campus, the style of play and where the program is headed," Smith told the Post-Gazette's Craig Meyer.
Playing in all 31 games last season, the 6-foot-2 guard averaged 4.5 points and 1.6 rebounds.
Coach Tim Miles told the Omaha World-Herald that he was disappointed that Smith decided to transfer.
"Tarin and I had talked over the last month about his future and where he fit in," Miles said. "I believe strongly in Tarin and wanted him to stay, but I put out the most likely scenario for him and told him he had to feel good about it."
Smith will sit out for next season due to NCAA transfer rules.
