Canisius' Zach Lewis to transfer

Canisius will head into next season without leading scorer Zach Lewis.

The team announced that the guard, heading into his junior season, will be transferring.

The 6-foot-3, 175-pounder averaged 12.5 points and three assists last season.

Golden Griffins coach Jim Baron spoke about the departure of his guard.

We are disappointed to learn that Zach wants to transfer from Canisius. He has been a hard worker and a good teammate, and we wish him the best in his future endeavors.

It is not yet known where Lewis will be heading.
