Kentucky lands 2024 5-star point guard Boogie Fland
Five-star point guard Boogie Fland is headed to Kentucky for the 2024-25 season, he told On3's Joe Tipton on Friday.
Fland, the No. 18 player and No. 2 floor general in ESPN's 2024 rankings, committed to John Calipari and the Wildcats over Alabama and Indiana.
"I chose Kentucky because of the history of success with the guards that have come through there," said Fland.
Kentucky rosters the top point guard in the 2023 class, with DJ Wagner set to make his college debut in September. Robert Dillingham and Reed Sheppard are also top-25 freshmen that will factor into Calipari's backcourt.
The Wildcats have graduated a handful of highly successful guards to the NBA, including John Wall, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Devin Booker, and Jamal Murray.
Though the program has consistently produced professional-level talent, Kentucky hasn't advanced to the Sweet 16 in five seasons.
