Report: Minnesota star Carr enters transfer portal

Minnesota guard Marcus Carr has entered the NCAA transfer portal, sources told ESPN's Jeff Borzello.

Carr joined the Golden Gophers after his freshman year at Pittsburgh. He averaged 17.4 points, 5.7 assists, and 4.7 boards over two seasons with Minnesota.

The Canadian registered a career-high 19.4 points per contest in 2020-21, earning All-Big Ten third-team honors. He also led all Big Ten players in assists and free throws made.

Minnesota finished 14-15 overall but ranked second-last in the conference standings.
