Pitt head coach Jeff Capel tested positive for COVID-19 and will not be behind the bench for Tuesday's game against Louisville, the school announced Saturday.

The program found no additional positive results after subsequent testing.

The Panthers will next play Duke on Dec. 29 following Tuesday's game against Louisville.

Capel took over coaching duties at Pitt in March 2018 after seven years as an assistant on Mike Krzyzewski's Blue Devils staff. The 45-year-old has led the program to a combined 35-37 record since, though the Panthers are 5-1 overall to start this season and 1-0 in ACC play.
