Report: Arizona facing 5 Level I violations
The University of Arizona faces nine allegations of misconduct - including five Level I violations - connected to the FBI's investigation into recruiting corruption, bribery, and fraud within college basketball, The Athletic's Seth Davis reports.
The Level I allegations - the most severe infractions under NCAA rules - reportedly include "a lack of institutional control and failure to monitor by the university" and "a lack of head coach control" from bench boss Sean Miller.
Arizona received a notice of allegations from the NCAA on Friday but chose not to disclose any details.
The Wildcats are the latest school to be punished by the governing body due to the federal probe.
Former Wildcats staffer Emanuel "Book" Richardson was among numerous college assistant coaches arrested and charged in the FBI's investigation. He pleaded guilty to accepting $20,000 in bribes to steer Arizona players to aspiring agent Christian Dawkins and financial manager Munish Sood. Richardson spent three months in federal prison last year.
