Arizona's Lauri Markkanen: Will enter NBA Draft
Markkanen will enter the 2017 NBA Draft and sign an agent, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.
Analysis:
Markkanen is currently projected to be a lottery pick, so his entrance into the draft is no surprise. At 7-0, the forward from Finland already has the size to make it at the next level, but add in his 42.3% mark from three-point range during his lone college season and you have a real weapon. Markkanen immediately draws comparisons to Kristaps Porzingis, the Knicks' talented center from Latvia, and while Markkanen probably won't go as high as Porzingis did in the draft, he has the potential to become a center that can step out and hit threes, a characteristic that is trending upwards in today's NBA.
