George Washington fires Mike Lonergan

George Washington has officially fired head coach Mike Lonergan, the team announced Saturday.

The Colonials cited "conduct inconsistent with the university's values" as the reason. Lonergan was the subject of an investigation into whether he had verbally and emotionally abused players, after 13 players transferred over the past five years.
Lonergan denied the allegations in July, saying, "Those who know me know that I conduct myself and run my program with integrity."
George Washington also said in the release the school will continue to investigate the entire athletic department. No interim coach has been named as of yet.
