Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose tried to gut out a left elbow injury Thursday night against the Houston Rockets, but lasted just 12 minutes before shutting it down for the contest.

Rose, who hyperextended the elbow during Tuesday's win over the Indiana Pacers, came out with a large pad and looked hesitant to move his left arm.

In his 12 minutes of one-handed action, Rose didn't attempt a single field goal. It's the first time in his career that he didn't put up at least one shot in a game.

He finished with zero points, two assists, and three turnovers.

Rose was spelled by E'Twaun Moore and Aaron Brooks, whose unspectacular but steady play helped guide the Bulls to a crucial, come-from-behind 103-100 win that kept them in the thick of the playoff hunt.
