Steve Kerr: Warriors are cocky 'in a good way'
Not only are the Golden State Warriors currently the top team in the NBA with a 41-4 record, but they might also be the most boastful.
"They're a pretty cocky group," Kerr told Diamond Leung of the Bay Area News Group. "They are. In a good way, though."
Golden State is led by Stephen Curry and Draymond Green, neither of whom shy away from the spotlight. Green doesn't consider the team's overconfidence to be a bad thing.
"We believe in ourselves," he said. "At the end of the day, that's all 'cocky' is, it's believing in yourself. We've always been that way, we're going to continue to be that way, and the better you get, the more that confidence grows and belief grows."
The Warriors' cocky nature has yet to serve as hindrance, as Monday night's blowout win over the mild-mannered San Antonio Spurs proved they can handle the game's elite.
"It was our night," Kerr said. "It wasn't theirs."
