Daniel "Boobie" Gibson stepped off the court in 2013 and onto the mic, and he intends to keep it that way.

The former Cleveland Cavaliers player revealed on Friday's "The Breakfast Club" that, after seven years in the league, he intends to continue to pursue a career as a rapper full-time.

"You don't do both," explained Gibson. "In order to be a great basketball player you gotta have a high level of discipline. You can't be out, all night in the studio doing what I feel it takes to become a rapper or to be a better artist."

To be fair, he does give other reasons for stepping away from the game - namely that "getting on the floor didn't feel the same" and he "didn't have the same excitement" due to his aggravated ankle injury.

Host Charlamagne Tha God was obviously pretty critical of the young artist. But judging by Gibson's tweet after his appearance, he is letting the comments roll off his back.
