On the same day that Lance Stephenson reportedly turned down a five-year, $44-million deal from the Indiana Pacers, the team went out and signed shooting guard C.J. Miles.

Wojnarowski reported Monday that the Pacers were pushing to use its full mid-level exception of $5.3 million on Miles, who made $2.225 million last season.
The 27-year-old averaged 9.9 points and 2.2 rebounds for the Cavaliers last season while starting in 34 of 51 games. Miles should give the Pacers an additional threat from long range, as he shot 43.5 percent from beyond the arc last season.
I have nothing but love for Cleveland and the entire Cavs organization I would not be in the position I am now without them and their belief

The addition doesn't rule out a return for Stephenson, as the Cavaliers still have options to unload salary.
Pacers can shave about $2.9M off that figure by buying out Scola, getting it to about $66.4M. That may leave enough for Lance.
