The Los Angeles Lakers are bringing back their Black Mamba jerseys for a special occasion this week.

To celebrate the unveiling of a Kobe Bryant statue outside Crypto.com Arena, the Lakers announced they'll be wearing their Black Mamba uniform at home against the Denver Nuggets on Thursday.

The Black Mamba jerseys were co-designed by Bryant and made their debut during the 2017-18 season as the Lakers' first City Edition uniform. The team also wore the jerseys during the 2020 playoffs, which culminated with them winning their 17th NBA championship.

Bryant, who died in a helicopter crash in 2020 at the age of 41, will be the seventh Lakers great to be commemorated with a statue, joining Elgin Baylor, Shaquille O’Neal, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Magic Johnson, Jerry West, and broadcaster Chick Hearn.

Bryant's statue will be unveiled at Star Plaza outside Crypto.com Arena prior to Thursday's game.
