Report: Nets haven't ruled out flipping Dinwiddie before deadline

Spencer Dinwiddie's second go-around with the Brooklyn Nets may be short-lived.

The Nets haven't ruled out flipping the veteran guard before Thursday afternoon's trade deadline, sources told NBA insider Marc Stein.

Brooklyn reportedly acquired Dinwiddie from the Dallas Mavericks as part of the Kyrie Irving blockbuster deal. He developed into a valuable piece for the Nets during his first stint with the club, averaging 14.3 points, 5.3 assists, and three boards over five seasons.

Dinwiddie joined the Washington Wizards in August 2021 as part of a sign-and-trade deal involving five teams. He was moved to the Mavericks halfway through his first campaign in the nation's capital.

Dinwiddie was a secondary scoring option and facilitator alongside Luka Doncic. He registered 17.7 points per contest and shot a career-best 40.5% from downtown across 53 appearances this season.

Dinwiddie has another year remaining on a three-year, $54-million contract.
