Doc Rivers will leave the Milwaukee Bucks following his third season in charge of the team, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania.

Rivers went a combined 97-103 after replacing Adrian Griffin as the Bucks' head coach in January 2024. This season, the franchise went 32-50 and missed the playoffs for the first time since 2016.

Rivers hinted Tuesday that he was considering leaving his role at the end of the season in order to spend more time with his grandchildren.

The 64-year-old has struggled to achieve postseason success with the Bucks, who have won just three playoff games total under Rivers and never made it out of the first round.

The former Coach of the Year also appeared at odds with star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo, who criticized the team's playing style multiple times during the season before being shut down for the year with a hyperextended knee. Antetokounmpo denied he was unable to play and called the organization's decision to bench him "a slap in my face."
