Cleveland Cavaliers rookie Evan Mobley will miss the next three contests due to a left ankle sprain sustained Monday against the Orlando Magic, the team announced Wednesday.

Mobley underwent an MRI on Tuesday, which confirmed the injury.

Cleveland selected Mobley third overall in last year's draft. The USC product has been a significant part of the Cavs' turnaround this season, especially on defense.

Mobley ranks third in the Association in contested shots (822), sixth in defensive win shares (3.7), and seventh in total blocks (109). He's averaging 14.9 points, 8.3 boards, 2.5 assists, and 1.6 swats over 67 appearances this season.
