Zion's foot injury improving, still out indefinitely
Recent imaging showed that New Orleans Pelicans star Zion Williamson's foot injury is improving, but the former No. 1 pick remains out indefinitely, the team announced.
Williamson hasn't suited up for the Pelicans this season after sustaining the injury in the summer and has suffered numerous setbacks in his recovery.
The forward was recently away from the team to focus on his rehab but will now gradually work toward starting basketball activities.
The Pelicans own a 25-36 record and are tied for the Western Conference's No. 10 seed, the final spot in the play-in tournament.
New Orleans recently bolstered its lineup by trading for Portland Trail Blazers star CJ McCollum but will seemingly not be able to pair him with the team's franchise cornerstone for the foreseeable future.
