The NBA and NBPA reached an agreement Sunday on additional replacement players for teams, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Clubs can sign one replacement player for each roster player that tests positive for COVID-19 effectively immediately until Jan. 19.
Teams are required to ink a replacement player once two players have contracted the virus. Any such signings won't count against the salary cap or luxury tax, Wojnarowski reports.
The joint decision comes as more players enter the league's health and safety protocols, including Golden State Warriors guard Andrew Wiggins. The NBA postponed three contests Sunday as well as two more later this week.
