Phoenix Suns guard Chris Paul suffered a right shoulder contusion in the second quarter of Sunday's 99-90 Game 1 win over the Los Angeles Lakers.

The 11-time All-Star collided awkwardly with teammate Cameron Johnson and headed to the locker room, but he returned to a standing ovation before halftime.

Paul exited once again midway through the third quarter before checking back in with 1:17 remaining in the frame.

The veteran battled through 36 minutes of play, posting seven points, eight assists, and four boards in the series-opening win against the defending champs.

Paul wasn't too concerned about his shoulder following Sunday's matchup.

"I'll be all right," Paul told reporters, according to FanSided's Gerald Bourguet. "I just kept thinking to myself, 'Get through the game.'"

Paul moved up to 18th on the NBA's all-time leaderboard for assists in the postseason.
