The Houston Rockets traded P.J. Tucker, Rodions Kurucs, and Milwaukee's 2022 first-round pick to the Bucks for DJ Augustin, D.J. Wilson, and a 2023 unprotected first-round pick, the Bucks confirmed Friday.

As part of the transaction, Houston can reportedly swap its 2021 second-round pick for Milwaukee's 2021 first-rounder unless the pick is one through nine, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

"P.J. Tucker checks all the boxes," Bucks general manager Jon Horst said. "He is a great teammate who brings a veteran presence with playoff experience. P.J.'s a versatile, high-IQ defender, and on the offensive end he plays with discipline, is unselfish, and spaces the court with his ability to knock down the three."

Tucker didn't play in the Rockets' last four games after reaching an agreement to be away from the club while they sought out a new home for the disgruntled forward. The defensive-minded wing averaged 4.4 points and 4.6 rebounds while struggling with his shooting efficiency through 32 appearances. Tucker has connected on just 31.4% of his long-range attempts, but he should help the Bucks by providing defensive versatility with an ability to operate as a small-ball center.

The Bucks also traded veteran forward Torrey Craig to the Phoenix Suns, Wojnarowski reports. Phoenix is reportedly sending cash considerations in return, according to Arizona Sports 98.7's John Gambadoro.

After breaking out as a contributor with the Denver Nuggets in recent years, Craig had been unable to secure a similar role in his first season in Milwaukee. In just over 11 minutes per game, the 30-year-old averaged 2.5 points and 2.4 rebounds, albeit with a career-best 36.4% shooting on 3-pointers. He's only under contract through the end of the current campaign.
