NBA postpones 6th straight Wizards game with Friday's tilt vs. Bucks
The NBA postponed Friday's game between the Washington Wizards and Milwaukee Bucks in accordance with health and safety protocols, the Wizards announced.
Washington would not have dressed the minimum eight players required. The contest was also called off due to the team's inability to practice in recent days.
The Wizards announced earlier Wednesday that eight players were set to miss the contest, with six of those absences specifically due to health protocols. Star Bradley Beal later said that Washington was fighting the league to postpone the game, calling it a "recipe for injury" for the shorthanded team.
This marks the Wizards' sixth consecutive postponement and the 17th overall this season across the NBA. Washington last played Jan. 11 - a 128-107 win over the Phoenix Suns.
It was reported Monday that seven Wizards players and one staff member recently tested positive for COVID-19. General manager Tommy Sheppard previously confirmed six positive results involving players. The identities of the players were not revealed.
