Magic's Augustin out at least 3-4 weeks with bone irritation in knee
Orlando Magic point guard D.J. Augustin will be re-evaluated in three-to-four weeks after an MRI on Thursday revealed bone irritation in his left knee, the team announced.
Augustin's eventual return will "depend on how he responds to treatment."
The Magic have been battered by injuries this season. Forwards Al Farouq-Aminu and Jonathan Isaac are reportedly both expected to be done for the season with knee concerns, while swingman Evan Fournier is currently listed as day-to-day with a quad contusion. Michael Carter-Williams also hasn't suited up since Dec. 20 due to an AC joint sprain in his left shoulder.
Magic head coach Steve Clifford said he'll meet with general manager Jeff Weltman on Friday to discuss the team's plans for the one-spot and whether or not Orlando will look to sign someone, according to The Athletic's Josh Robbins.
Augustin opened the 2019-20 campaign as the Magic's starting point guard but has since been replaced in the lineup by Markelle Fultz.
The 32-year-old veteran is averaging 10.7 points and 4.7 assists per game this season.
