Lou Williams drops career-best 50 as Clippers stun Warriors

Lou Williams heard Kevin Durant was making history and couldn't care less.

On a night when Durant scored the 20,000th point of his career, it was the Los Angeles Clippers guard who stole the show. Williams erupted for a career-high 50 points Wednesday against the Golden State Warriors, helping Los Angeles rout the Warriors, 125-106.

William's outburst was helped by an impressive third quarter when he scored 27 points, overtaking Baron Davis for the most points in a single frame in team history. His third-quarter output is also the highest-scoring quarter by any player this season.

Williams simply couldn't stop scoring in the third, when he shot 8-for-11 and 3-of-5 from 3-point range:

In total, Williams shot 8-of-16 from beyond the arc on his career night. He also had a perfect night at the charity stripe, going 10-for-10.

His previous career high came two seasons ago with the Los Angeles Lakers, when he scored 44 points in 34 minutes on Jan. 8, 2016 against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
