Andrew Bogut will make his Cleveland Cavaliers debut Monday night, but he could have been suiting up in green instead if not for a word of advice from former Cavalier and fellow Aussie Matthew Dellavedova.

Bogut says he was on the fence about where to sign after being bought out by the Philadelphia 76ers last week, deciding between the Cavs and Boston Celtics. He told reporters Monday that a talk with Dellavedova helped sell him on Cleveland, according to Sam Amico of FOX Sports.

Dellavedova was part of two finals runs with the Cavs, winning the title last year after filling in admirably for an injured Kyrie Irving during their 2015 defeat. Those moments in the limelight helped the undrafted guard land a four-year, $38-million deal with the Milwaukee Bucks this past offseason.

Bogut was playing with the Golden State Warriors, the Cavs' opponent in both finals.
