Tyronn Lue fined $25K for criticizing officials
Cleveland Cavaliers head coach Tyronn Lue was fined $25,000 Sunday for his comments about officiating after Game 4 of the NBA Finals on Friday night.
Lue specifically complained about referees failing to recognize the amount of contact LeBron James absorbs.
"He never gets calls," Lue said, after Cleveland's loss put them in a 3-1 series hole heading back to Golden State. "I mean, he attacks. He's one of the most - outside of Russell Westbrook - he's one of the guys that attacks the paint every single play. And he doesn't get a fair whistle all the time because of his strength and because of his power and guys bounce off of him."
Lue and the Cavs still wound up the beneficiaries of the NBA's rulings on Game 4-related incidents Sunday. Draymond Green did not, in the end, get away with his surreptitious foul on James, getting retroactively assessed a flagrant 1 for a retaliatory punch to the groin.
The ruling gave Green four flagrant points this postseason, automatically triggering a one-game suspension. He'll serve it in Game 5 on Monday.
