Busch was fastest in Happy Hour practice for the NASCAR Cup Series Championship Race at Phoenix Raceway Friday afternoon. He turned a fast lap of 130.813 mph.

Analysis:

Busch overcame contact with AJ Allmendinger during this lone session ahead of qualifying to turn the fastest lap of the Phoenix oval. The driver of the No. 8 Chevrolet would top a trio of Toyotas to head the scoring pylon. Busch has been very inconsistent of late, but boasts strong historical stats at Phoenix Raceway.
