UFC 280 weigh-in results: Oliveira, Makhachev cleared for title fight
Charles Oliveira and Islam Makhachev made weight Friday ahead of their fight for the vacant lightweight title scheduled for the UFC 280 main event Saturday in Abu Dhabi.
Oliveira weighed in at 154.5 pounds, while Makhachev also tipped the scales at 154.5 pounds. "Do Bronx" is the division's most recent champion, but he was stripped of the title in May after missing weight by 0.5 pounds ahead of what was to be his second defense against Justin Gaethje.
Featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski also weighed in as the backup fighter, and hit the mark at 155 pounds.
Reigning bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling and TJ Dillashaw - who will face off in the co-main event - also made weight. They came in at 135 pounds apiece.
