Ankalaev-Pereira 2, Merab-Sandhagen atop UFC 320 card
A rematch for the light heavyweight title between champion Magomed Ankalaev and challenger Alex Pereira will headline UFC 320 on Oct. 4 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
The co-main event will see Cory Sandhagen challenge bantamweight champion Merab Dvalishvili. A light heavyweight bout between Jiri Prochazka and Khalil Rountree will also be on the card.
Ankalaev defeated Pereira via unanimous decision at UFC 313 in March to capture the light heavyweight title. Pereira had held the belt since November 2023 before surrendering it to Ankalaev. After the fight, Ankalaev said the Brazilian spent 20 minutes running away from him.
Neither light heavyweight fighter has competed since UFC 313. Ankalaev comes into the matchup with a 14-fight unbeaten run.
UFC 320 will mark the third title defense for Dvalishvili since winning the championship by beating Sean O'Malley via unanimous decision at UFC 306 in Sept. 2024. He defeated Umar Nurmagomedov via unanimous decision and O'Malley again, this time by submission, since then.
