The Portland Timbers announced Wednesday that the club signed new deals with midfielders Ben Zemanski and Nick Besler, along with defender Andy Thoma.
Zemanski, 27, remains at Providence Park for the 2016 season despite missing much of the team's MLS Cup-winning 2015 campaign with a torn ACL. Besler, 22, is the younger brother of Sporting Kansas City central defender Matt Besler, and was drafted by the Timbers at the top of the 2015 season. He spent the year with the Timbers' USL side, Timbers 2.
Thoma, 22, also spent the season on loan in the USL with Timbers 2.
