Larin replaces Edwards in Canada's Gold Cup squad

Cyle Larin has returned to the Canadian national team fold.

The Canadian Soccer Association announced Sunday in an email news release that the Orlando City forward has replaced Toronto FC left wing-back Raheem Edwards in Octavio Zambrano's Gold Cup squad ahead of the knockout stages of the competition.

Each team is permitted up to six changes after the group phase of the Gold Cup, but Larin was the only change made to Zambrano's outfit. He was originally left out of the team due presumably to a DUI arrest while with his club, but returns in time for the quarterfinals.

This will be Larin's second Gold Cup experience, and the 22-year-old will look to use this opportunity to add to his five international goals in 20 appearances.

Meanwhile, Edwards heads back to Toronto to rejoin Greg Vanney's side, and right on time as Justin Morrow remains with the U.S. national team, now joined by his TFC teammates Michael Bradley and Jozy Altidore.
