Toronto FC coming around after sluggish start to the season
Toronto FC put on a show of flicks, tricks, and metronomic passing Friday in a straight forward 2-0 shunning of the Houston Dynamo.
Jozy Altidore bagged a brace at BMO Field to put him second in the club's all-time scorer list across all competitions with 34 strikes, and the performances of Marky Delgado and Victor Vazquez put TFC in good stead ahead of losing a Gold Cup contingent which includes Michael Bradley and Armando Cooper in the summer.
Altidore's opener was set up by impressive youngster Raheem Edwards. The local lad could've been in an offside position when he was picked out by Delgado, but his pass to the United States international was pinpoint.

Not content with taking a bit-part role behind the forensic passing of Vazquez and others dazzling in red, Sebastian Giovinco then paired up with Altidore superbly with a one-two on 32 minutes that promptly unraveled the visitor's backline.

The rest of the tie was a formality, with Delgado turning on the party tricks with a cheeky backheeled flick over Eric Alexander, and the California native, Vazquez, and Altidore all receiving sounds of appreciation when they were withdrawn ahead of Wednesday's visit from Orlando City.
