LA Galaxy bruiser Nigel de Jong has been suspended for the club's Friday fixture against the Houston Dynamo, head coach Bruce Arena confirmed in training Wednesday.
"He will not be available for the game against Houston," Arena said. "The suspension has not been determined yet, but we know it's at least one game."
De Jong was shown only a yellow card for a brutal tackle on Portland Timbers midfielder Darlington Nagbe, which reportedly ended with a medial ankle sprain for the U.S. international.

Arena said the MLS Disciplinary Committee has suspended the Dutchman for the upcoming match, though the team is not yet aware of the full extent of De Jong's punishment.
