The Washington Nationals and Atlanta Braves pulled off a spring training trade Sunday, making a one for one swap.
Washington sent utility player Tyler Moore to Atlanta in exchange for first baseman Nate Freiman.
Moore, 29, was placed on waivers on Mar. 24 by the Nationals after not winning the backup first job out of camp.
Over the course of four seasons, all with the Nationals, Moore owns a .228/.281/.401 slash line with 24 home runs and 91 RBIs.
Freiman, also 29, was signed by the Braves as a minor-league free agent in December after being released by the Oakland Athletics.
The former San Diego Padres draft pick has appeared in 116 big-league games over two seasons, and owns a .256/.309/.408 line with nine home runs and 39 RBIs.
