Treinen's sinker touched 100.3 mph in 2015.
According to Fangraphs, the 27-year-old threw his sinker 61.7 percent of the time he took the hill last season, with it averaging a speed of 96.3 mph.
The strapping 6-foot-5 reliever is likely to secure a spot in a revamped Nationals bullpen that features new additions Trevor Gott, Shawn Kelley, Oliver Perez, and Yusmeiro Petit.
