The Texas Rangers have agreed to a minor-league deal with right-hander Jeremy Guthrie, the team announced Sunday.
Guthrie has spent the last four seasons with the Kansas City Royals, compiling a 41-34 record with a 4.38 ERA and 1.36 WHIP across 109 appearances.
The 37-year-old alluded to a potential deal earlier Saturday with this post on his Instagram account:
Guthrie will now compete for a rotation spot with Chi Chi Gonzalez, Nick Martinez, and A.J. Griffin, among others in Texas.
