One artist has come up with a new way to commemorate baseball trailblazer Jackie Robinson.

Rob Ferrel decided to literally etch Robinson's face on the bat itself:

Robinson broke baseball's color barrier in 1947 when he debuted for the Brooklyn Dodgers. Major League Baseball honors Robinson each season on April 15, when all players and staff sport his retired No. 42.

In 2016, every MLB team is scheduled to play on Jackie Robinson Day, with his former franchise set to host the San Francisco Giants at Dodger Stadium.
