For the second time in less than a month, the Texas Rangers have optioned right-hander Nick Martinez to Triple-A.
Martinez will head to Triple-A Round Rock after the Rangers purchased the contract of left-hander Andrew Faulkner.
In a corresponding move, the Rangers also designated left-hander Chris Rearick for assignment.
Martinez was recalled Thursday but didn't make an appearance in Thursday night's win.
He is 7-7 with a 4.09 ERA in 21 starts.
