Justin Verlander will take the mound as scheduled when the Detroit Tigers play host to the Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday.

Verlander was scratched prior to his start last Wednesday, due to what he described as not being in game shape due to a triceps injury that kept him out until early June.

That ultimately gave him back stiffness, which forced him to miss a start.

Following a bullpen session Saturday, the former Cy Young winner is feeling good and ready to get back on the mound. In two starts this season, Verlander is 0-1 with a 6.17 ERA in 11 2/3 innings.
