Gonzalez was ejected from Friday's game against the Padres after the top half of the seventh inning for arguing balls and strikes.
Analysis:
Gonzalez took umbrage with one of the strike calls during his at-bat with the home-plate umpire Doug Eddings, and was later tossed after grounding into an inning-ending double play. Alberto Callaspo entered the game in the bottom half of the seventh to replace Gonzalez, while Justin Turner moved over from third base to cover first. Gonzalez finished the night 1-for-4 with an RBI.
