A bout of the flu snapped Evan Longoria's streak of consecutive games played at 270 on Thursday. One day later, the virus claimed another victim.

On Friday night, the Tampa Bay Rays scratched right-hander Jake Odorizzi from Saturday's scheduled start against the Texas Rangers due to flu-like symptoms. The Rays will recall Matt Andriese from Triple-A Durham to start in Odorizzi's stead.

Odorizzi, who finished eighth in Rookie of the Year voting in 2014, has enjoyed a tremendously strong start this season, fashioning a 2.21 ERA with a 0.89 WHIP over his first six starts. The 25-year-old also boasts a 4:1 strikeout-to-walk ratio, and has yet to allow a home run over 40 2/3 innings.

Andriese, meanwhile, opened the season with the Rays before being optioned to Durham last week. Over two starts and three relief appearances for Tampa Bay this season, Andriese owns a 5.54 ERA while notching only seven strikeouts in 13 innings.
