VIDEO: Kinsler's bunt, Pino's gaffe send Tigers to walk-off victory vs. Royals

Ian Kinsler was only trying to advance the runner when he dropped down a bunt in the bottom of the ninth inning of Friday's series opener against the Kansas City Royals.

Instead, he ended up sending the Detroit Tigers to victory.

With Anthony Gose standing on second base following a leadoff double, Kinsler laid down a bunt to the right of reliever Yohan Pino to advance Gose, the potential winning run in a 5-5 game, to third base. Pino hurriedly chased after the ball, desperate to record an out on the play, and uncorked an ill-advised throw toward first base.

Pino's throw, however, never reached its target.

Pino's first error of the season allowed the Tigers to reclaim first place in the American League Central, though Detroit's dramatic victory was dampened by the hamstring injury suffered by left-hander David Price during the seventh inning.
