Report: Fred Wilpon becomes new chairman of MLB Finance Committee
New baseball commissioner Rob Manfred is shaking up Major League Baseball's executive council.
New York Mets owner Fred Wilpon is one of seven members of the council to be dismissed, but has been appointed chairman of MLB's Finance Committee, according to the Daily News.
Some of Wilpon's duties will include: Conducting hearings on league investments, potential changes in ownership, stadium revenue issues and financing issues.
Wilpon, infamous for his financial losses in the Madoff investment scandal, has also been highly criticized for his low-budget mentality with the Mets.

The Twitter world was shocked by the report, to say the least:
MLB has named Fred Wilpon "Chairman of Finance". In related news, Bartolo Colon was appointed to chairman of health & nutrition
