Bumgarner pitched five scoreless innings of relief on two days' rest Wednesday in Game 7 as the Giants won the World Series.
Analysis:
Bumgarner turned in an historic MVP performance, three days after throwing 117 pitches in a four-hit shutout to win Game 5. He threw 68 pitches Wednesday, retiring 14 in a row at one point and lowering his career World Series ERA to a stunning 0.25. He initially was credited with the win, but it was later changed to a save.
