It's almost July 31. With every passing day, every passing hour, every passing second, Major League Baseball's non-waiver trade deadline inches closer.
Here are the latest trade rumors from around the league:
- The Baltimore Orioles and St. Louis Cardinals are reportedly interested in the services of Minnesota Twins All-Star catcher Kurt Suzuki. Both the O's and Cardinals are missing their starting catchers, so Suzuki, having a career year offensively, would be a big addition.

- The New York Mets are reportedly unlikely to trade second baseman Daniel Murphy, another first-time All-Star. He's part of the Mets' future plans, so teams will have to look elsewhere for help at second.

- Staying in Queens, the Mets are reportedly willing to eat - no pun intended - $2 million of what's left of starting pitcher Bartolo Colon's 2014 salary in order to facilitate a trade.

- The Seattle Mariners, rumored to be interested in Colorado Rockies outfielder Drew Stubbs, reportedly went as far as making an offer for him. The Rockies are looking for young pitching help in return, because Coors Field.
- The St. Louis Cardinals are reportedly working on a deal with free-agent catcher A.J. Pierzynski. The 37-year-old, who was released by the Boston Red Sox last month, will provide some much needed insurance with starting catcher Yadier Molina on the shelf.
- It isn't a trade rumor, but has trade implications: the Philadelphia Phillies won't release first baseman Ryan Howard, according to general manager Ruben Amaro.
- Few teams are reportedly interested in Chicago Cubs right-handed starter Edwin Jackson, who, believe it or not, is only 30 years old. Jackson's played for eight teams in 12 years, and has been with the Cubs for two years, which means it's time to move on.

- From late Thursday night: Arizona Diamondbacks second baseman Aaron Hill is reportedly on the trading block, but his $12 million salary through 2016 is an issue.
- Also from late Thursday night: the New York Yankees and San Diego Padres are reportedly talking trade, with right-handed Padres starter Ian Kennedy the focus. The Yankees won't part with third baseman Eric Jagielo and pitcher Ian Clarkin to get a deal done, however.
