VIDEO: Jayson Werth steals 2nd with ninja slide, 'I gave them the old whoop-dee-do'

"I gave them the old whoop-dee-do," said Jayson Werth.

There may not be a better way than that to describe how Werth stole second base on the Houston Astros on Wednesday night.

It was magical. With Adam LaRoche batting, it appeared as if Jason Castro had nailed Werth by a good margin, but Werth used some sort of ninja dance to avoid Jose Altuve's tag.

Werth would then score on an Ian Desmond single, a run that proved valuable later, as the Nationals managed a 6-5 victory.

The stolen base was number five on the year for Werth, who also has six home runs and boasts a 116 wRC+, a far cry from his unbelievable 2013 mark (160) but still indicative of a safely above-average season at the plate.
